Two powerful earthquakes, magnitudes 7.2 and 7.5, have struck Venezuela’s northern coast with devastating force.
The twin tremors have reduced buildings to rubble, sparked fires, and shattered countless lives across the region.
Morón and areas near Caracas suffered the worst damage, with entire neighborhoods completely flattened.
Official figures report dozens dead and hundreds wounded, but rescuers fear the final toll could reach ten thousand as they dig through collapsed apartment blocks and crushed vehicles.
La Guaira, home to the main international airport, looks like a war zone—runways cracked, terminals buried in debris, and all flights grounded.
Schools are closed, hotels have become emergency shelters, and terrified families are sleeping outdoors to escape aftershocks, while international teams from the U.S., Mexico, and beyond rush in with search dogs, tools, and field hospitals.
Despite the chaos, exhausted volunteers keep pulling survivors from the ruins, determined to prove that Venezuela’s fate is not yet written.
